INFORMATION FOR NEW CLIENTS

Making appointments

If you would like to make an appointment with one of our psychologists, please email us at admin@mindlifeclinic.com.au or call us on (03) 5332 2266 between 9:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

What happens then?

We will do our very best to find you an appointment with a psychologist who suits your needs. Due to the current high demand for our services, you may have to go on a waitlist. You will then be contacted as soon as an appointment becomes available.

At the time of securing your first appointment, we like to book three or four subsequent sessions for you, usually fortnightly. The reason for this is that it is easier to cancel future appointments, rather than get them at short notice.

Deposit

To secure your initial appointment, a $90 deposit (or $50 if your appointment is with a Provisional Psychologist) is required. This deposit will be deducted from your fee at the conclusion of your first session. If you cancel your appointment, your deposit will be refunded. If however, you do not show up for your appointment, or if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, you will lose your deposit.

New client email

Once you have made your first appointment, we will email you a list of your appointments, and some information about Mind Life Clinic. Within the email there are two forms: one is for you to fill out online and send back to us, and the other is for you to read through and digitally sign and send back to us. We suggest you do this as soon as you receive the email, to save you having to fill out the forms by hand when you come in for your first appointment.

GP referrals

If you have received a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, please send it to us or bring it in to the clinic before your appointment. If you are unable to do this, let us know, and one of our admin staff will get it from you when you arrive for your first appointment.

Cancellation Policy

Mind Life Clinic has a very strict cancellation policy. Any client who “no-shows” or cancels within 24 hours of their appointment will be charged a $90 fee (or $50 if your appointment was with a Provisional Psychologist). No further appointments will be permitted until the cancellation fee has been paid.
